I have been dwelling on my weight gain, knowing full well that I am responsible for picking up the food and putting it in my mouth but I realized after looking at my weight loss ticker that I haven't been this heavy since July. I am shocked to think that in two weeks time, I could seriously sabotage my body enough to gain 8 pounds. Scary, right?
I am putting this train back on the right track with all I talked about and my YMCA fitness trainer session happens tonight. I also plan on doing Zumba tonight with the kiddos. If anything, they can get a good laugh.
I am exactly 29 lbs. down and have 29 lbs. to lose to my goal weight. I am going to meet that goal by Dec 2012! I feel like I'm teetering and could easily go back up but the right thing is to win this battle and go down. I love thinking that I'm on a teeter totter and that I have to counter the "fat May."
My name is May. I was banded on July 22, 2011. I am Forty, FAT, and getting Fit. Join me on my "life-saving" journey from having Bariatric Surgery to managing my hectic life of being a full-time mom, full-time employee and now full-time Lap-Bander...

Happy New Year...A New Start!
A new year means a new start and time to kick butt! Having two weeks off with the kiddos during Christmas Break and nursing them back to health from viruses after Thanksgiving was proof that I am not strong enough yet to win this battle. I put myself last and let being tired make me lazy with my diet. This, along with the slide from last month and letting work projects rule my life sacrificed my progress and now we have the December's slide back into the heavy side. Well I'm starting new.
Here's how I'm kick-starting things to get back on track,
Here's how I'm kick-starting things to get back on track,
- Starting yesterday, I'm back to tracking my diet and exercise online once again (this keeps me in check).
- Today I'm back online with my fellow banders on LapBandTalk.com and I've signed up for the January Challenge - my goal is to get to a solid 160 (or less).I may even go back to a pre-op diet to jump start things.
- Starting yesterday, I am using my YMCA membership that Stefan bought for me and my goal is for 4-5 days a week of exercise (at least 3 days of strength-training). I've discovered Zumba and love it and even bought a Wii version so no excuses. I do have to set-up time with a trainer to get a work-out plan in - I'm trying to set this up for this week (but so is everyone else).
- More liquid protein - my hair is falling out in clumps and my snacking has increased because of lack of liquid protein.
